To add to your advantages at the waterfront, you will soon have Water Metro.

Two variants of modernized air conditioned and WiFi enabled Catamaran passenger boats are proposed for the Water Metro project. The headways vary between 10 minutes to 20 minutes across various routes. It will connect vital areas like Marine Drive, Vyttila, Infopark, Maradu, and Kundannoor.

Phase 1.

During Phase 1, it is proposed to operate 7 routes with a fleet requirement of 43 boats. In this phase 16 out of 38 jetties will be developed and will be completed by 2018.

 Phase 2.

The entire water transport project will be fully operationalized by 2019. In this phase, it is proposed to operate 9 routes with a total of 16 routes and a fleet requirement of 78 boats.

 Many beautification aspects will also be added like new sidewalks, modernized jetties etc.
