Maintaining a house needs a little bit of patience, time and labor. Maintaining your home can prevent it from aging and also protect your loved ones from allergens and illness. Maintaining house at regular interval save money and can also avoid unnecessary headaches in the long run.

It will be really overwhelming if one tries to do all work together .so its always better to prepare a checklist of things to do to maintain your house so that it improves your efficiency too.

While preparing the checklist of property one has to keep in mind the climatic condition too as maintenance depends on climate too. A checklist should be made on a monthly,bi-annually and yearly basis. The checklist should be a reminder for one to know which things have to be done first.

Things that should be checked monthly includes

1. Inspection of drainage for any clog accumulation, putting vinegar can remove clogs.

2. Inspection of fire extinguishers for any wear and tear on its body, or for any dirt accumulation on its nozzle.

3. Bathroom taps, showerheads, should be cleaned at regular intervals to remove mineral deposits.

4. Check toilets of the unused bathroom, flush and clean it regularly to avoid any kind of build-up due to water accumulation.

Things to be done biannually

1.Dust every nook and corner of the house. Wash out the area that is not carpeted. Clean every appliance, windows, furniture’s, carpets and rugs, etc

2. Take care of your garden by removing dried leaves and any dead plants and also pluck weeds.

3. Check inverter batteries. Always use distilled water to fill the battery to increase the life and efficiency of the battery.

Things to be done annually

1. Check the roofs for any paint chipping, holes or for any other damage.

2. Drainage may be get blocked by leaves for over a period of a year. Clean the drainage and check for damage and slope clearance.

3. Do touch up on the paint of your house.

4. Clean chimney for uninterrupted flow of smoke and also check gas pipes for incorrect bends, breakage or leakage.
